Emily and I spent a day of our vacation at the Grandfather Mountain park and hiking area. After going up to the tourist attraction the Mile-High Swinging Bridge, we ventured off to an adventure on the Grandfather Trail. This trail is a very rugged trail, with several sections that involve ropes and ladders placed for assistance when the going got rough. Definitely not a trail for the faint of heart, and the 100-ft visibility combined with the facts that it was cold and misting did not make the trail any easier. Alas, we conquered the mountain and made it to Macrae Peak, one of the highest peaks found at Grandfather Mountain.
